Frequently asked questions
Origin, roast, freshness, delivery and payment.
Where does Ethera coffee come from?
Ethera is a single origin from Ethiopia: 100% Arabica from the Ethiopian highlands, not blended with any other origin.
How is the coffee roasted?
Medium (medium roast). This makes it just as suitable for espresso as for filter, French press or Bialetti.
Which sizes are available?
250 g, 500 g and 1000 g – each as whole bean or ground.
Whole bean or ground?
Whole beans keep their aroma for longer; ideally grind them just before brewing. We recommend ground coffee if you don't have a grinder – use it within two to three weeks of opening.
How should I store the coffee?
Sealed, dry, cool and away from light – not in the fridge. The bag is resealable.
How fast is delivery?
We ship with Swiss Post, usually within 1–3 working days of confirming your order. We will let you know the shipping costs with the confirmation.
How can I order?
Via WhatsApp or using the enquiry form on the product page. Choose your size and grind – we will personally confirm delivery and payment.
Do you offer terms for businesses?
Yes. For cafés, restaurants, offices and resellers we prepare offers based on volume and delivery frequency.
What does “single origin” mean?
The coffee comes from a single country of origin – in Ethera’s case, only Ethiopia. It is not blended with beans from other countries, so the character of its origin comes through.
Which grind size for which brew method?
Fine for espresso, medium-fine for a moka pot, medium for filter coffee, coarse for French press and cold brew. Turkish coffee needs a powder-fine grind.
Which coffee machines is Ethera suitable for?
Espresso machines and bean-to-cup machines (as whole beans), filter machines and pour-over, French press and moka pot. We do not offer capsules.
How much caffeine does Ethera contain?
Ethera is 100% Arabica. Arabica contains about 1.2–1.5% caffeine – roughly half as much as Robusta. How much ends up in your cup depends on dose and brew method. We do not offer a decaf version.
How long does the coffee stay fresh?
Unopened and stored cool and dark, it keeps its aroma for several months. Once opened, enjoy whole beans within three to four weeks and ground coffee within two to three weeks.
Can I freeze coffee?
Yes, if you want to keep a larger supply: in portions and airtight. Let portions thaw sealed so no condensation forms, and don’t refreeze them. Avoid the fridge – coffee picks up moisture and odours there.
Where do you deliver and what does shipping cost?
We deliver throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein with Swiss Post. Shipping costs depend on weight and quantity; we confirm them before you pay.
How do I pay for my order?
There is no online payment on the website. After your enquiry we personally confirm the price, shipping costs and payment method. Business customers are invoiced.
