From shrub to cup
The story of a bean.
- 01 / 07
Blossom
It all begins with a white, jasmine-scented blossom on the coffee shrub in the Ethiopian highlands.
- 02 / 07
Harvest
The blossom becomes a red cherry. It is picked by hand when ripe – Handpicked with care.
- 03 / 07
Drying
The cherries dry in the sun. Then the bean is separated from the fruit.
- 04 / 07
Green coffee
The green, unroasted bean travels in jute sacks from Ethiopia to Switzerland.
- 05 / 07
Roast
Medium roast: the bean turns brown, develops sweetness and body, and keeps its origin.
- 06 / 07
Grind
Freshly ground – fine for espresso, coarser for filter and French press.

For cafés & offices
Coffee for those who need more.
For hospitality, offices and resellers we supply Ethera in 1 kg bags – on a regular basis and on volume-based terms.
Request termsWhere does Ethera coffee come from?
Ethera is a single origin from Ethiopia: 100% Arabica from the Ethiopian highlands, not blended with any other origin.
How is the coffee roasted?
Medium (medium roast). This makes it just as suitable for espresso as for filter, French press or Bialetti.
Which sizes are available?
250 g, 500 g and 1000 g – each as whole bean or ground.
Whole bean or ground?
Whole beans keep their aroma for longer; ideally grind them just before brewing. We recommend ground coffee if you don't have a grinder – use it within two to three weeks of opening.
How should I store the coffee?
Sealed, dry, cool and away from light – not in the fridge. The bag is resealable.
